YOU Create YOUR LIFE, NO ONE ELSE CAN!

5 years ago I thought I was a Happy Positive Person, I thought that my circumstances were due to others problems, not recognizing that they were due to my choices.

We were in a very tough spot financially, for a few months we were borrowing money from the in laws just to pay rent, then when they couldn't help out anymore we asked our church for help, and that was a totally humbling experience. The Bishop of our church reviewed our situation and told us that he could help that one month, and that was it. We were surviving off Food from the State and I hated that, but again I thought well some day things will change, and get better.

But after struggling for the next 2.5 years to make ends meet not knowing when or where the money would come from to cover our meager bills, I began more diligently to PLEAD with the Lord for answers, guidance as to how to change the circumstances that my family was in. And Something that would Pull us out of the situation we were in for GOOD and give us the opportunity to be able to have enough for ourselves and to serve others, with our time and income.

I speak the Love Language of Service and I hated that I couldn't do much to serve others because I was stuck at home (we had one car, and the hubby took it to work) and we didn't have money to share.

2 Years ago my Prayers were answered in a WAY that I certainly did not expect to happen. MY dear Friend Robyn, reached out to me and offered me the opportunity to be a Health Coach with Beachbody and a part of her team. I didn't recognize this as an answer to prayer right away and thanked her but told her it wasn't for me.

Then fast forward 6 months later and over time and many things that happened and prayers, Heavenly Father Basically told me this was the Vehicle that I had prayed for, which would allow me to Serve others and earn the income our family needed to get out of our financial situation as well as improve our family's heath Greatly.

So I finally took the "HINT" and contacted my friend and told her "Okay I am ready, I think this is my answer and I am going to give it a try."

Of course I was still scared, super hesitant, and worried that I would fail at it and that others would think not so nice things about me for doing it. BUT I took the Leap of Faith.

Our Family has been so blessed because of this.
*I have been able to Serve
*I have been able to make so many new and wonderful friends as well as rekindle several lost friendships
*Our Family rarely gets sick any more and we are stronger and much more active, hiking, swimming, playing tennis together
*We have been able to take Family Vacations that I had only Dreamed of before. I used to envy those who could afford tips like the one my family just took, and it was all paid for in cash.
*I am able to stay home with my children and work from the comfort of my own home, rather than working a job out side of the home, answering to a boss and working the hours demanded of me
*I have watched as friends on my team have had life changing experiences because of the decision I made to be a Coach.

As Coaches with Beachbody we are encouraged to spend at least 20 minutes a day doing Personal Development, through reading, or listening to books that teach us how to be better, more positive, Humans.

22 Hard Corps Review!

When I first heard about Beachbody launching this program I turned to a fellow coach and said "Man I would never try that, any one who wants to is Crazy." and then muttered on about how I hate cardio and it's not something I care to do, bla bla bla!

Here I am nearly a year Later having just completed it, and having had Impressive results from following it, I felt impressed to share with y'all. That way if you have been considering giving it a go but just wasn't sure if you could handle it or just what it's like, You can at least see/read my point of view about it.

I'll Start with why I was so hesitant about it, it's for a few reasons.
1) I have back issues, and knee pain (if I do high impact work outs) and I was worried I couldn't keep up and that because of that it might not be effective.
2) It looked crazy intense and very high cardio. I have a tough time keeping up with my breathing during intense cardio and then I get either light headed, lungs burn or headaches.
3) I didn't really want the brutality of Military Style Boot Camp, Not really my thing, So I thought.

Well January and then again in February Beachbody offered a free sneak peek (for any Club Members) of a couple of the workouts. After giving it a try I felt it wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. Then I was intrigued and thought maybe I am ready to Jump and push myself a bit farther. So I purchased it with in the first day it became available for Sale. and 20 days later I hung up the wall calendar and began Day 1 with the Cardio 1 workout!

Day 1 was one of the workouts that I had sampled so it wasn't new and I felt great after it, a couple things I needed to slightly modify, but not much modification. However they did offer 3 modifiers to follow throughout the entire program. Yes It was only 22 minutes, yet I was dripping sweat on my mat before I was done.

Day 2 was a new to me workout and is a Resistance workout. It incorporates your own body weight along with weights, and either resistance bands or a pull up bar. I began with resistance bands since I couldn't even do 1 pull up. Sad I know :(  I liked the resistance workout a whole lot, not high cardio so I could focus better on my breathing and again plenty of modifications to follow when needed.

Day 3 was back to cardio again, and it alternated like this throughout the program. Once you reached week 2 you were introduced to the 2 level or cardio and resistance and would rotate through those 4 workouts, along with each cardio day also doing a 9 minute core workout. Which I really enjoyed, it felt great and worked my abs well, they would feel tight the next day. by week 5 in came Resistance and Cardio 3 along with core 2. Yep that's right, just when you were getting in the groove and feeling like you were getting the routines down, BAM, Try something new and a bit tougher!!!!!

So I felt that my muscles toned up and my thighs really got a good tune up, so much less giggle than when I started, plus I lost a almost 1" in my thighs and now have a thigh Gap. I have wanted that since I had my first baby and I lost it during my pregnancy. I never knew how nice it was to have until It was gone for 11 years. BUT I worked diligently and reached that goal of mine this time through the completion of my 9th program. :)

I also see I difference in my arms and muscle definition, and for sure my core area. I feel stronger and so proud of myself for getting through this program. By the time I completed it, I was able to do 15 push-ups on my feet and 10 pull-ups!

SAY WHAT, 10 Pull-Ups???? Yep you read that right, it was a HUGE accomplishment for me. This video was at the beginning of week 7, so I hadn't reached 10 yet.

So I think my 3 Favorite things about this program would have to be:
1) It's only 22 minutes/6 days a week - yet it was sooo effective in that short amount of time
2) I loved Tony Horton as the Instructor, he was excellent, motivating and always made sure to point out ways for us to modify or to take it up a notch depending on where I was at that day.
3) It's FUN, Yes it's a hard workout I wont lie about that, but Tony would remind us to do it with a smile on our face when it got too hard and remember why we were doing it, and I did that several days and go through just fine.

So would I recommend this program to a complete beginner? YES, there are so many ways to just follow one of the modifiers and you'll do great

Would I recommend this to some one looking to Dial in on their muscle definition? YES, pairing it with the 21 day portion control, making sure you get in 1/2 your weight in grams of lean protein daily, and incorporating Shakeology into your diet like I did you will certainly see that muscle definition peek through.

What about pairing this program with running (training for a 10k, 1/2 or full marathon) probably not, unless you did only the resistance workouts and skipped the cardio. Otherwise it would most likely be a bit too much cardio for your body.

If you're at an advanced fitness level and looking for something to challenge you, This is a Fantastic option for you too. All of the exercises are not only modified at a lower level but also at a higher level. So if you want to add a great 22 minute Intense workout daily, this could be a perfect fit for your needs.

You are 50+ and wonder if you could accomplish this program? Yes YOU Can. You may need to take it slow and completely follow the modifier for the first few weeks. It may take you double the days to complete it, only doing a workout every other day, but YES you certainly can accomplish this if you would like to make that a goal of yours.

DO I recommend this Program???

You Betcha I do, Loved it and am so proud of myself for completing this Boost Camp Program.

3 Day Refresh (From Beachbody) Overview

EEEEK, I was so scared I had heard awful Nightmares about how tough the 3 Day Refresh was, how you starved for 3 days, lacked energy, and got HANGRY.
BUT I had also heard GOOD thing from others who Swore it was just what their bodies needed to stop feeling sluggish, to get more energy and feel more regular, PLUS most of the them had lost 3-7 lbs on average.
So I figured WELL Best give it a try for myself and see what results I get and then write up an Totally Honest overview to share with YOU, so you know how it works and what to expect from doing it.
SO Here it is, the GOOD, BAD and UGLY (haha)

DAY 1: I woke up at 7:00 am, made my bed(I hear making your bed help you to feel a sense of accomplishment first thing in the morning) peed and then weighed in at 153.6, then I drank 8oz of cold water first thing, before I really got to moving much. Next I proceeded to mix up my Shakeology (I mixed 10 ounces of water with 1/2 vanilla 1/2 Cafe Latte) and I ate a half a cup of Fresh cherries.
Next I did a light workout of 10 minutes of Yoga (from our 10 Minute Trainer program) followed by 18 minutes of PiYo (Upper Body routine -a hybrid of Pilates and Yoga)
Then I went about my day as usual, so Far so good, I wasn't feeling extremely hungry and continued to drink water throughout the day as usual aiming to get 1/2 my body weight in ounces in.
So when 11 am came around I began to feel fairly hungry so I Chugged the Fiber Sweep drink (that comes as part of the 3 Day Refresh) It wasn't as bad as I had thought it might be, as I had heard awful things about it. So I mixed it as directed, chugged it and washed it down with 8 ounces of water. It actually has a pleasant lemon taste. Not that I would drink it for fun, but it wasn't so bad I was gagging or anything like that.
Off to Swim Team and Lunch at the park with my kiddos at 11:45. I mixed up my 1st Vanilla Fresh meal replacement shake (this also comes as part of the 3 Day Refresh) to take with me to the park for my lunch along with a Tbls of Peanut Butter and 1/2 a banana.
I ate around 12:15 and felt full. Oh the Vanilla Fresh is NOT my favorite (it's got a bit of texture too it and the after taste was rather nasty, but again Doable for Sure, Just trying to keep it Real) So around rolls 3:00 and I was HUNGRY, borderline Hangry so I ate my Snack witch was 1 cup of Herbal tea (I HATE herbal tea, (this for me was the hardest to choke down of all the drinks, I really have never understood why any one enjoys sipping on brewed leaves, flowers, or stems, Bleck!) and raw fruit juice. I blended 3 baby carrots, 1 handful of spinach, and 1/2 a cup of pinapple, with 2 tbls of water. It was actually rather tasty. It seemed to satisfy me until Dinner.
I ate dinner at 7:30pm and had a scrumptious salad. at first I was rather worried that I would have to eat a salad with no dressing, but I went through the options of seasonings, and liquids I could have and ended up blending 1Tbls of red wine vinegar, 1tsp of olive oil, 1tsp of lemon juice, and a couple shakes of a season blend I had in the cupboard that said Salt Free on the label. and MY oh My was it tasty. The salad was was a mix of 1 cup spinach, 1 cup red leaf lettuce, 1/4 cup sliced pickled beets, 1/2 a medium tomato, 3 white mushrooms, 1/4 chopped yellow pepper. I drank the 2nd Vanilla Fresh after I finished my salad, completing my eating by 8:15pm.
I went to bed at 11, and didn't feel hungry. YAY, day one was complete!

DAY 2: Well I woke up 7:30a,m feeling pretty good, a bit hungrier than usual but not so bad my stomach felt like it was Eating itself. :)
Again I made my bed, peed and weighed in (150.4) Hey Hey, not bad already down 3lbs after the first day, I'll Take it!!!
So on to drinking my shakeology (same flavor as above) and this day I had 1/2 cup of fresh pineapple as my morning fruit.
I got my workout in which was PiYo (22 minute Lower Body routine) again, and then sat down at my desk to work, drinking water over the next few hours.
Around 1pm I realized I had totally lost track of time when my daughter asked if I was going to drink my Fiber Sweep, Ooops! But good news I had felt full from 8:00am till 1pm with just the fruit and Shakeology. But I was supposed to drink the fiber mid morning, not afternoon, hope that didn't mess things up too much.
SO on to chugging the fiber sweep drink again, followed by 8oz cold water. Well since I didn't drink it until so late I followed it up with lunch just 30 minutes later. Vanilla Fresh drink plus 3 white mushrooms, 1Tbls peanut butter (I use the Adams brand no added salt or sugar) and 1/2 a cup of cherries. I skipped a snack today since it was so late and ate dinner around 6:30pm.
Dinner was another Vanilla Refresh drink and Delectable Salad, with the same dressing. But this time the salad consisted of 1/2 cup spinach, 1/2 cup red leaf lettuce, 1/4 chopped yellow pepper, 1/4 cup blueberries, and 1/2 avocado.
Again I went to bed feeling full and satisfied, and enjoyed day 2.

DAY 3: OH NO, This day was BAD! I woke up at 7:10 (had to hit the snooze button once) then peeled myself out of bed. I felt drained and Starving. But proceeded with my morning, following the same routine as the past 2 days, this day weighing in at 148.8 (hip hip hooray another 1.6lbs down) but I wasn't liking the hungry tired feeling I had.
On to my breakfast, Shakeology (10 oz water and chocolate/vanilla mix), I forgot the fruit (oh well, I made up for it later in the day)
Jumped right into my workout and did PiYo again since it's a light (not high intensity and low impact) today I did the Buns workout and LOVED it, my legs and but needed a good workout after our week long vacation of Many hours in the car. (and yes today I am feeling it, in a good way)
So around came time for the fiber sweep again, 11 am I chugged that sucker (by day 3 it wasn't so pleasant, I just wanted it to be done) I also mixed up my Vanilla Fresh to take with me to Lunch at the park again.
I also brought 9 baby carrots, 1/4 Yellow pepper, and 1 Tbls peanut butter. Oh and 1/2 cup of fresh pineapple. Now I am going to get Really real with y'all here. I Do Not like peppers or carrots if they are not cooked or mixed with other ingredients, So there was a lot of almost gagging trying to eat them. I would chase them down with a lick of peanut butter to help make it tolerable. I wanted to do a Facebook Live so y'all could see me struggling with eating them, but I was driving to my kids swim team practice so it was a No Go. Once we got to Lunch in the park I drank the Vanilla Fresh and ate the pineapple. Thank goodness for the sweet juicy pineapple taste left in my mouth until the next snack.
Here was the BAD part, 2:00 rolls around and I could barely keep my eyes open, while I was out running errands (picking up 28lbs of cherries, and running to Winco for a few needed groceries) I reached out to others who had previously completed this and they also said day 3 they felt that drain in energy. OH Boy how was I going to make it through the day with the LONG list of stuff I needed to accomplish feeling like I hit a wall.
I got home around 3:15 and ate a snack hoping that would wake me up (1/2 avocado, and 1/2 a banana) NOPE it didn't do the trick by 4:00 I crawled into bed and took a nap for an hour and 15 minutes. I woke up feeling tired still but Much better than I was. So on to tackling my to-do list.

I was pretty hungry by 5:30 so I decided to make dinner earlier than usual so that I would have more energy to get things done. I decided on a veggie stir-fry which was Sooooo Good that my family all wanted some too, so after I ate mine I made another full frying pan worth for them. the Stir-fry was made of 2 Mushrooms, 1/3 zucchini sliced, 1/2 cup frozen broccoli, 1/4 red pepper sliced, 2 slices of sweet onion, 1/3 cup frozen kale, and 1/8th cup of fresh pineapple tidbits. For the seasoning I did 1Tbls olive oil, 1Tbls coconut oil, 1 pinch of Himalayan salt, 1/4 tsp of  True Lime powder, and 1/2 tsp fresh garlic.
After I ate that my energy came back, a Lot and I got a nice boost of energy to complete a couple hours on my business that I had fallen behind on. Yeah, I needed that. I forgot my Vanilla Refresh drink since I sat down to work and got so wrapped up in it. So at 10pm I drank that and then headed to bed.

Day 4: I was DONE! I woke up feeling Alert, jumped right out of bed and got on with my morning routine, peeing, weighing in, making my bed, prayers etc.... Super happy about that after Yesterday, but I also wanted to EAT the House full of Food I felt famished. However I didn't want to mess up the last three days of cleansing my body so I didn't. I drank my energize drink and got right to my workout.
Oh You wanted to know what my Final weight was, hahahahaha! Well I was very happy with it, 148.4lbs which means I released a total of 5.2bls - Not bad for a 3 Day Body Cleanse.
I am happy with the Results, I do feel lot's more energy today and I am excited to see how the rest of this week goes for me, working to keep my blood sugars level by snacking regularly with balanced healthful snacks and eating the correct portions. NO more Sugar snacks Daily. YES I do believe in having treats in my diet, but 2-3 a week is good and I had let that get out of control 1 a day some days more.

Sugar is so NOT conducive to a healthy diet or weigh loss, and I tell others this all the time, yet I was making the choice to think I was stronger than that and it wouldn't effect me. NOT TRUE, I am so happy I caught it before it got worse, I do not want to be one of those stories of gaining my weight back. Or feeling sluggish, energy highs and lows, or getting headaches again.

Recap: DO IT!!! Just Do It! You wont regret it and for only 3 days, It was totally doable. May I suggest that you align it so that day 3 is not on a day that you have a lot to accomplish and just plan to take a nap to get through it.
